    "The Silver King" was an extremely popular play, produced in many venues for over 30 years. It was adapted for films in 1919 and 1929. The melodrama told the story of a wronged man returning to his homeland after being thought dead. The play opened at Wallack's Theatre on January 27, 1883; closing date is unknown.
